Basics of Pistol Shooting Class

Course Overview:

This course is entirely Instructor-led and may be taken by law-abiding US citizens, as defined by applicable federal, state, or local law.

If you are pregnant or nursing, we will require a written doctor's authorization allowing you to shoot and handle ammunition.

The NRA Basic Pistol Shooting course will be held with an instructor at our facility. We will work hands-on with various pistols to ensure you know how to safely load, cock, fire, de-cock, and unload the different action types. We will practice various stances to see what works best for you using the Fundamentals of Shooting. And then? We go shoot some pistols! Once we're done shooting for the day, we will do a detailed pistol breakdown and cleaning.

This class will take approximately 8 hours to complete. Classes for single action types (Single-action revolvers, Double-action revolvers, Semi-Autos) are available. Please contact us for information.

The practical shooting exercises are conducted at an outdoor range. Please dress appropriately.
Eye and hearing protection is required. We recommend a high-necked shirt. Hot brass can blister.
Flip-flops, sandals, and bare feet will not be allowed.
You must wear full-coverage shoes such as tennis shoes.

You will need to provide:

A notebook
A pen and highlighter
Eye and ear protection
Your pistol*
Your Owner's Manual (if you have one)
150 Rounds of ammunition (minimum)* **

*Firearms are not provided you must bring your own.
**You may bring more ammunition if you desire. You can fire more than 150 rounds if time permits.

Live ammunition is not allowed in the classroom.

Course Materials, a Completion Certificate, and Range Fees are included in
the $125 course fee. There is a $50 (minimum) non-refundable deposit required for Registration.

If you are unable to attend the class after registering, this deposit will be applied to your next registration.
